Do you prefer hot or cold weather?

我的答案

我喜欢适宜的天气，比如秋天，天气不冷不热。如果非要选一个我选夏天。冬天太冷了，我受不了。

I generally prefer moderate weather, such as in autumn, when it’s neither too hot nor too cold. However, if I had to choose, I’d pick summer because I find extremely cold winters quite unbearable. Warm weather allows me to enjoy outdoor activities comfortably without worrying about catching a chill.

moderate adj. 温和的、适中的、不极端的

用于描述天气时，表示气温不高不低、比较舒适。

unbearable adj. /ʌnˈbeərəbl/ 难以忍受的、不能忍受的

形容某种感觉或状况太糟糕，以至于人受不了。

catch a chill 受凉

意思：受凉、着凉、生病（通常因冷导致）

与 catch a cold 的区别如下：

Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

我的答案

我喜欢适宜的天气，天气太湿或者太干我都不喜欢。中国北方比较干燥，皮肤容易皲裂，南方则相对多雨湿润，衣服容易发霉。

I prefer weather that is comfortable, not excessively dry or humid. For example, the north of China tends to be very dry, which often leads to cracked skin, whereas the south is much wetter, causing clothes to become damp or mouldy. Therefore, moderate conditions are definitely my favourite.

In my hometown, summers are typically hot and rainy, while winters are cold and dry. The contrast between the seasons is quite noticeable, which makes each season feel unique in its own way.

Do you have the habit of checking the weather forecast?

我基本没有这个习惯，但是因为要换到一个新城市工作，对这里还不是很熟悉，所以需要提前查一下天气确定当天穿什么。尤其是冬天换季的时候，很容易着凉。

I don’t usually check the weather forecast, but since I recently moved to a new city for work, I find it helpful to do so in order to plan my outfit for the day. This is especially important during winter or transitional seasons when sudden changes can make it easy to catch a cold.

I don’t usually check the weather forecast every day because in most cases I can simply dress based on experience. However, since I recently moved to a new city for work, I’ve started paying closer attention to it. Knowing the weather helps me plan what to wear, especially in winter or during transitional seasons like spring and autumn, when temperature changes can be sudden and unpredictable. Checking the forecast saves me from being caught off guard by rain or a sudden drop in temperature, which could easily lead to catching a cold.

This has led to more extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, heavy rainfall, and unpredictable seasonal patterns, which can significantly affect ecosystems and human life.

Would you like to visit other cities that have different climates from where you live?

得看天气更好还是提天气更差了。如果天气更好我当然愿意去。天气更差的话，如果只是旅游那还可以，长期待我需要考虑一下。

It depends on the type of weather in those cities. If the climate is more pleasant, I would definitely love to visit and enjoy the change. Even if the weather is less favourable, short-term travel might still be enjoyable, although I’d hesitate to stay there for a long period.
