Part 1
Geography
- Have you ever studied geography at school?
我的答案
Yes, I studied geography all the way through middle school and high school. It was a compulsory subject for us, so I ended up learning everything from basic landforms to climate patterns. Even though it wasn’t my favourite subject, it definitely broadened my understanding of the world.
- Do you like geography?
- make sense of to understand sth that is difficult or has no clear meaning 理解,弄懂(不易理解的事物)
我的答案
To be honest, I’m kind of neutral about it. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly passionate, but I do find certain topics—like time zones or different types of landscapes—quite fascinating because they help me make better sense of how the world works. So overall, it’s interesting in its own way.
- Do you want to travel to a country because of its geographical conditions?
- an active volcano 活火山
我的答案
Yes, absolutely—geography can be a huge motivation for me to travel. One of the things on my bucket list is to see an active volcano up close, because I think that kind of raw natural power would be incredible to experience in person. So unique landscapes definitely influence my travel choices.
- Do you want to be a geography teacher?
我的答案
No, not really. I’ve never been interested in becoming a teacher in the first place, and geography isn’t the subject I’m most passionate about. I’m far more drawn to language learning, so teaching geography wouldn’t be the right path for me.
- Do you think geography is useful?
我的答案
Yes, I do think it’s very useful. It helps you understand everyday things, like why certain cities have particular weather patterns or why some regions are prone to natural disasters. More importantly, it gives you a broader perspective on how people live differently around the world, which I think is invaluable.
