“Text messages” 在雅思口语里通常指短信（SMS），也就是传统通过手机号码发送的文字信息。

但是，考官在口语Part 1提问时，并不严格限定只指短信，你完全可以把 微信、WhatsApp、Messenger 等即时通讯工具 也包括在内，只要你解释清楚就行

How often do you send text messages?

I send text messages pretty much every day. It's my main way of keeping in touch with friends and family. On busy days, I might send dozens of messages, especially in group chats where conversations are ongoing. It's just so convenient for quick communication without disturbing others with a phone call.

Is sending messages popular in your country?

Absolutely! Messaging apps are incredibly popular here. Almost everyone from teenagers to grandparents uses WeChat or similar platforms. People use them not just for chatting but also for paying bills, ordering food, and even official communications. It has become an essential part of daily life.

Did you send more messages when you were younger?

I think I actually send more now than when I was younger. Back in school, I'd mainly text friends about homework or making plans. Now, I use messaging for work, family groups, coordinating with friends, and even professional networking. The variety of people I message has definitely expanded.

Do you reply to messages as soon as you receive them?

It depends on the situation. If it's something urgent or from someone important, I'll respond right away. But during work hours or when I'm focusing on something, I often silence notifications and reply in batches later. I think it's healthy to not be constantly interrupted by message alerts.
