Part 1
Doing something well
- Do you have an experience that you did something well?
- brochure noun /ˈbrəʊʃə(r)/ /brəʊˈʃʊr/
参考答案
Yes, I organised a charity bake sale at uni last term. Managed to get dozens of people involved, raised over £500 for a local food bank. Everything went smoothly - the logistics, the volunteers, the publicity. I was really pleased with how it turned out, and we're doing it again this year.
我的答案
Yes, I think I did quite well when I worked as a consecutive interpreter for Tourism New Zealand last year. I had already interpreted for them once before, so I knew how things worked. This time I prepared really thoroughly by studying product brochures and building a glossary in advance, which helped me deliver the job smoothly and confidently.
- Do you have an experience that your teacher thought you did a good job?
参考答案
Definitely. My A-level English teacher was really impressed with my essay on Shakespeare. She read bits of it to the class as an example of good analysis and gave me top marks. I was quite surprised actually, as I'd struggled with the topic at first. Really boosted my confidence though.
我的答案
Yes, I think so. Back in school, I was usually among the top students from primary to high school, so my teachers often praised my performance. It always made me feel recognised and motivated to keep doing better.
- Do you often tell your friends when they do something well?
参考答案
Yeah, I do try to. I think we're often too British about giving compliments, aren't we? When my mate passes her driving test or cooks a lovely meal, I always say so. It's nice to celebrate the small wins, and everyone appreciates a bit of encouragement now and then.
我的答案
Yes, definitely. Whenever my friends achieve something great, I always make sure to praise them and say things like “you did amazing.” I think giving encouragement can really make people feel appreciated and boost their confidence.
